A different weekend, an active weekend. A bit more than one hour travelling from the Honiara city, we arrived at the Doma cultural village, where a raw experience was awaiting for us. One night when we feel we are in a scout camp, where we plant, harvest cassava from the garden, and cook our own food with a makeshift fire; where we hear scary stories and tales, with a dark night, and that makes us sleep with one open eye. In the morning, the sun wakes up us early and feeds us the vigor that we need for the day that is awaiting us. That’s how our task of document a new hiking path starts. We all had an important task in this activity, someone opens way through trees and shrubs, others write all the curiosities and stories about where we are heading, others calculate the time and distance of the walk, and others take pictures for future promotion. This teamwork led us to know two different hikes, but with one common beauty, the nature. The first one between a dim forest, that tug us to a lost cave with a beautiful wildlife inside; and the second that refreshes us with the cold waters of the river, and that leads us to discover hidden minerals and lush landscapes. One entire day of hiking and new discoveries; A different day of many others, where we reveal the island heart and a young and heavy type of opportunities and natural beauty.
